Rosedale Football Netball Club shone in the spotlight, winning both showpiece games in the Worksafe Game of the Month on Sunday.
AFL legend Danny Frawley and Australian netball champion Sharelle McMahon were on hand at Rosedale Recreation Reserve as the home side won seven of the nine contests, including the senior football and A-grade netball.
The Blues wasted no time flexing their muscle in the main event, piling on seven goals to no score in the opening term.
The Saints were able to hit the scoreboard in each other quarter, but Rosedale still managed to extend its lead at every change to eventually run out a 102-point winner, 21.12 (138) to 6.5 (36).
Brandon McDonald starred with seven goals and was ably assisted by Sam Tudor, Matt Royal and Frazar Brouns.
Sam Moran, Sean Alexander and Brett Street battled hard for Cowwarr.
Over on the netball court, the reigning premiers accounted for the visiting Saints 40-34.
Cowwarr didn’t walk away empty-handed, scoring encouraging wins in the reserves football – 20.12 (132) to 3.1 (9) – and 15-and-under netball 36-20.
